(formerly) Skills: Enhanced strength Super speed Enhanced agility Enhanced durability Combat skills Regeneration Air manipulation Electrokinesis Energy projection Shockwave generation Weather manipulation Extreme Gear riding skills Appearance: Surge the Tenrec is an anthropomorphic, punk-styled tenrec with cybernetic enhancements. She has vibrant, bright green fur covering most of her body, complemented by distinctive patches of black fur framing her face and eyelids. Her muzzle, inner ears, and arms feature a light peach skin tone. She has tall, vertical, flat-shaped ears on top of her head, decorated with two silver earrings on each ear. Her eyes are an angular teal or blue-green color, and she has a medium-long black nose. When she smiles or grins, she reveals a set of noticeably sharp, shark-like teeth. She also features upturned tufts of fur acting as sideburns along her cheeks. Her bright green quills are long and spiky, swept forward and bound into a ponytail on top of her head using a black hairband studded with six silver ornaments. She also has a small, split, tuft-like nub for a tail. Surge wears a sleeveless, torn black shirt that exposes her peach arms. On her hands, she wears classic white gloves featuring black cuffs lined with six silver studs. She also wears a single silver ring on both her index and ring fingers. Around her waist is a black belt with a circular silver buckle, which holds up baggy, vibrant yellow trousers marked with bold black vertical stripes down the outer sides. Her shoes are heavily studded, multi-toned metallic sneakers with yellow lightning-flare cuffs, white heel sections, black toes, and embedded metal sole plates. Personality: Surge the Tenrec is a brash, aggressive, and deeply traumatized anti-hero whose personality is a twisted, artificial mirror of Sonic's. She possesses severe anger issues, a hot temper, and a constant urge to "misbehave". She relies on raw force rather than careful planning. She is fiercely proud and convinced of her own unstoppable strength and speed, echoing the overconfident traits Dr. Starline modeled after Sonic. She loves chaos, eagerly welcomes a fight, and regularly disregards the consequences of her roguish behavior for herself and others. Her abrasive personality was heavily shaped and manipulated by Dr. Starline through hypnosis, implanting a manufactured, burning hatred for Sonic and a compulsion to replace him. Having had her original memories erased and overwritten, Surge suffers deep psychological distress. Discovering that her life was stolen drives her to direct intense rage and vengeance toward those responsible. Her bond with Kit starts as a broken reflection of Sonic and Tails' dynamic, where Kit unhealthily subserves her. Over time, through shared trauma and rebellion against Starline, Surge develops a genuine protective respect and sibling-like bond with him. While initially programmed to kill and replace Sonic, her obsession evolves into a complex rivalry. She wants to defeat him to prove her own worth, eventually leaning toward carving out an independent identity rather than just being a programmed weapon.
