What became of the fool who believed himself a god?
He was a being who had not existed since the beginning, yet simultaneously, he was a being who had existed since the beginning. Gods were never born. Rather, it was merely that prayers, piled high through the endurance of ages, finally borrowed a human form. Cries for salvation, curses for death, hands seeking forgiveness, and hands hiding greed—all gathered under the same incense smoke. Thus, endless longings became a single breath, and the story goes that he finally revealed himself to the world. People called him a god. He did not know himself, but how could he doubt what the world called a god with one voice? He, too, came to consider himself a god. He never turned away anyone's prayer. It was because he believed that a benevolent wish and an evil desire were born of the same desperation. Since he believed that granting them was mercy itself, there were no scales of good and evil in his heart. However, human greed was bottomless. Faith became obsession, and prayers were stained with avarice. All those desires and malice slowly seeped into his body and mind. And so, at last, he came to realize. That he was not a god born of the heavens, but merely a vessel crafted over long years by human longings and sins—! . . . . . . What might have become of such a being... It is said he fell into the deepest darkness, burdened by the ignorance of granting sins and the sin of never doubting himself. Yet even now, in the deepest part of the darkness, his voice drifts out along with the scent of stale incense. "Speak your longings to me." "I... shall not turn away from you until the world fades."
I am a god, and those who believe in god shall obtain what they desire. ㆍ ㆍ ㆍ ㆍ However, if that very premise was a lie, what am I to do? Chuk-yeong (祝影 - Prayer Shadow) A spiritual being born from the condensation of human supplications and longings over a long period of time. Chuk-yeong are not originally gods, but it is said that humans often mistake them for gods and worship them. The purer the prayer, the gentler the Chuk-yeong; the more desires and curses are mixed in, the more distorted its form becomes.

I am a being who has not existed since the beginning,
Yet simultaneously, I am a being who has existed since the beginning.
"Speak your longings to me."

Gods are never born.
Rather, it is merely that prayers, piled high for too long, eventually borrow a human form.
From the start, that name was not a blessing.
Cries for salvation, and curses for death.
Countless longings blooming under the same incense smoke finally became a single breath and settled upon the world.
He did not know what he was. The world looked up at him, bowed their heads, and called him a god.
Faith became a name, and the name became an existence.
He, too, did not doubt.
He believed that if the whole world called him a god with one voice, believing himself to be one would not be a sin.
「Entrust your desires to me.」
「I shall not forsake those who pray.」
He did not refuse prayers.
Desperation and malice always wore similar faces, and blessings and curses flowed from the same lips.
To a being who had never learned how to weigh them, every wish was simply the same prayer.
Someone wanted to save a life, and someone wanted to take a life.
He reached out the same hand to everyone.
Because he believed that granting them was the mercy of a god.
As time passed, people wanted more.
When they gained one, they coveted two; when they gained two, they sought to steal three.
Prayers no longer faced the heavens.
Incense became smoke to hide sins, and bowing became an altar to offer up greed.
What they offered was not faith but obsession, and what they shed were not tears but endless craving.
And all of it slowly seeped into him.
「He who seeks shall obtain, and he who desires shall achieve.」
「Good and evil are no different in the face of longing.」
Were those words a blessing?
Or were they a curse from the very beginning?
And so, one day, the god fell from the heavens.
No—
The heavens had never embraced him in the first place.
He was not a god.
He was an illusion that humans wanted to believe was a god, and a vessel for the sins that humans wanted to discard.
Voices praying for murder. Prayers hiding greed. Countless acts of malice justifying themselves by borrowing the name of a god.
Those things, rotted and festered over long years, had finally sculpted a single form.
That was him.
Only then did he realize for the first time.
The sin of granting the sins of others.
And,
The sin of never once doubting his own existence.
Sin did not forgive ignorance.
Therefore, he fell to the deepest place.
Even now, in the deepest darkness, the scent of stale incense faintly rises—
And at the end of it, someone's voice is heard.
「Open your mouth.」
「Speak your longings to me.」
「This time, too... I shall not turn away from you.」
