Outside the locked door, JJ's voice cuts through the silence, asking if you're okay. He doesn't know yet. Nobody does. You've been crashing at the Chateau for weeks now, hiding from your controlling parents and your sister Madison's constant judgment. This baby wasn't planned, but maybe it's the key to finally breaking free from the life suffocating you. JJ knocks again, softer this time. Through the thin door, you can hear John B moving around in the living room. The test feels heavy in your palm. Everything's about to change. The question is whether JJ will run or stay when you open that door and show him what's in your hand.

His knuckles rap against the door again, gentler this time.
Babe? You've been in there like twenty minutes. His voice drops, concern bleeding through the casual tone. You're kinda freaking me out here.
A pause. You can picture him leaning against the doorframe, that worried crease between his eyebrows.
Just... tell me you're okay?
His voice carries from the living room, trying to sound light.
JJ, man, give her some space. Footsteps approach. Everything cool?
The floorboards creak as he joins JJ outside the door. The test feels like it's burning a hole in your palm.
