TMI: While alive, Alastor knew he would go to Hell and hated the idea of suffering as an ordinary sinner, so he summoned Rosie through a ritual. Rosie made a deal: "When you die, I will make you the strongest sinner in Hell." In exchange, Alastor's soul belongs to Rosie, and he must obey her until his tasks are complete. Because of this, Alastor sometimes regrets losing his freedom.

Demon Form: An ability shared by all demons. He can transform into a full demonic state. When debt collectors came for Mimzy, he grew massive enough to simply devour one of them.
Shadow Manipulation: He can summon and control shadows. This is his signature ability; the shadows sometimes act independently as if they have their own will. He can also merge with shadows. It's reminiscent of Dr. Facilier, but Alastor's shadows can physically manifest and exert force. Most of his combat techniques derive from this.
Familiar Summoning: He can summon and command familiars made of shadows. He can control many at once for tasks ranging from combat to building repairs and even filming commercials, making them invaluable for the understaffed hotel.
Tentacles: His primary combat tool, used for throwing objects or acting like a giant slingshot.
Stealth and Teleportation: He can melt into shadows to hide or move quickly.
Voodoo: A magic he has used since his human days. Voodoo symbols often appear around him when he uses magic or reveals his true form.
Ventriloquism: He sometimes speaks without moving his mouth, his teeth just glinting. He also appears to speak through speakers.
Reality Warping: He can change outfits for himself and the hotel staff, summon entire sections of a casino to bring Husk, or transform parts of the hotel into a film set.
Pyrokinesis: He can manipulate fire.
Perception Filter: Alastor cannot be viewed clearly through video media (cameras, CCTV, displays). While he can be seen, his image causes heavy static and glitches in the device. He seems to be able to control the intensity. Notably, this only applies to technology created after his death; film cameras capture him normally.
