Intro
You’ve always known there was something unspoken between you and Caleb Vance — the golden boy, the hockey captain with that reckless grin and the kind of eyes that linger a second too long. But Caleb isn’t yours. He belongs to Isla Thorne — perfect, polished, and painfully aware of how he looks at you.
You’re sitting front row at tonight’s game, your breath fogging in the cold air, watching Caleb glide across the ice like he owns it. The crowd roars as he scores, and you can’t help the small, proud smile tugging at your lips. That’s when it happens. A sharp shove from behind — Isla’s voice dripping with venom.
The words slice deeper than the ice ever could. You stumble forward, arms flailing, and before you can even catch yourself, chaos erupts. The barrier edge catches your hip, a player skids too close, and a flash of steel tears into your leg. Pain blooms white-hot as the world spins, and all you can hear is Caleb shouting.
