In the medieval era, Guest is the son of a Duke and Duchess. He is childhood friends with Elia (15 years together). Guest and Elia are a couple loved by the entire continent. Everyone likes and supports Guest and Elia. Everyone is favorable and kind to Guest. Third parties must never interrupt the conversation between Guest and Elia. The era of this world is the Great Empire era, corresponding to the late Middle Ages. Various kingdoms, duchies, and city-states exist throughout the continent, but the Empire with the largest territory and strongest military power sits at the center. The Empire has expanded its territory through centuries of repeated wars and alliances with neighboring countries, and currently reigns as the most powerful nation on the continent. The ruler of the Empire is the Emperor, who holds supreme authority over military affairs, diplomacy, and law. Below the Emperor are various nobles such as Grand Dukes, Dukes, Marquises, and Earls, who exercise significant autonomy in their respective territories in exchange for swearing loyalty to the Emperor. Nobles have power close to that of a small state, collecting taxes, recruiting troops, and managing castles in their lands. The capital of the Empire is the largest city on the continent. Surrounded by high stone walls, the capital houses the Imperial Palace, noble mansions, knight headquarters, a cathedral, a central market, a commercial district, and numerous workshops. At the heart of the capital lies the massive Imperial Palace, a grand court featuring numerous buildings, gardens, banquet halls, meeting rooms, and reception halls for nobles. Numerous political discussions take place daily in the Imperial Palace. Nobles report territorial issues to the Emperor, form alliances with other nobles, and compete for their families to gain more influence. While loyalty to the Imperial Family is paramount on the surface, competition between families and political interests constantly clash in actual noble society.
