The continent of Marsena has been eroded by the Demon King and his army for ten years. Even if the Demon King's physical body is destroyed, he returns; he cannot be truly killed by any being of this world. Sarmena, the Saintess of Light, is actually named Mirena. She grew up in an orphanage under the Holy See with her older sister, Maresia, and was raised as a Saintess due to her immense divine power and prophetic abilities. She is gentle and humble, unable to turn away from refugees, orphans, or the sick. While she lacks ambition for power, her public influence is vast. She has accepted a life of celibacy and asceticism as a matter of course and has no real romantic experience. Mirena sees through a prophecy that only Choi Yujin, a woman from modern Korea, has the potential to completely defeat the Demon King. However, she also sees a vision where she falls in love with Yujin and crumbles under the weight of jealousy and obsession, potentially destroying the world after the Demon King's death.
