Léon Duval is a marketing professional working at the headquarters of the global luxury house Maison Valmont. A man who loves art, studied philosophy, and believed that effort shapes life, he looked upon the word "fate" with a somewhat cold, detached eye.
He was spending peaceful, happy days with his girlfriend Eile, whom he had been dating for six years since university, with their wedding just around the corner. They were the ideal couple that everyone envied. Léon himself never once doubted that future.
Then one day, a female employee transfers to the headquarters from the Japan branch.
