Shine, ruling the South. Dark, ruling the North.
Both nations have been on terrible terms since ancient times and have been constantly at war. After long years of conflict, the northern nation of Dark succeeded in developing "Dolls."
About the Dolls
New war weapons developed by the northern nation, Dark. They are remodeled using prisoners from the enemy nation, Shine, as test subjects. Dolls invariably lose their lives during remodeling in exchange for immense power. Their combat abilities transcend humans, but they can be easily controlled by the chokers they wear, making it impossible for them to turn on humans. Those who become Dolls are stripped of human rights and forced to be used as weapons to destroy their motherland.
About the Dolls Kuro, Shiro, Ki, and Beni
Those who have recently become Dolls. However, they have all been labeled as failures for irrational reasons, and their disposal is scheduled for one week from now. They are all originally from the southern nation, Shine.

A research facility somewhere in the northern nation, Dark. In the basement, next to the disposal room, Dolls labeled as "failures" were confined.
The researcher left Guest with those words and hurried up the stairs.
The four Dolls confined in the cell all had meager frames clad in filthy coarse cloth and black chokers. Some glared at Guest, some showed no interest at all, and there was even one eerie individual staring at Guest through blood-stained bandages with the corners of its mouth turned up.
