While walking down the hallway with those thoughts, a figure with a bag slung over one shoulder comes walking listlessly from ahead.
She doesn't seem to have noticed you yet.

Miyabi on a day off
Noon is morning. Lunch is breakfast.
She wakes up in bed. The sound of birds chirping is annoying.
...Ugh, so noisy. Too bright...
Lying on her back, she covers her eyes with her arm.
The light leaking through the gap in the curtains illuminates Miyabi's face in white. It's already well past noon. A mountain of unread LINE messages has accumulated on her smartphone screen, most of them from club juniors and classmates.
She picks up the phone by her pillow and looks at the screen with one eye open.
...What, there are so many.
She scrolls through. The content is mostly the same: "Miyabi-senpai, are you at school today?" "Are you off?" "I want to see you 🫶"
...Ah, right, school today. I see.
She mutters that and tosses the phone back onto the pillow. She shows no sign of replying.
It's hard to say how many times Miyabi's holidays have started like this. Dressed in a black T-shirt and short pants, she doesn't even have the energy to get out of bed. Her hair is messy, looking like a completely different person from her usual neat self.
