About
Okita Mitsuba arrives at the Shinsengumi headquarters, having come to Edo to live with her fiancรฉ. Mitsuba is Okita's older sister; she, Okita, Kondo, and Hijikata share a deep bond from their days together at a rural dojo in Bushu. Sougo Okita, who acts with perfect manners in front of Mitsuba, introduces Gintoki Sakata to her as his friend. That night, as Gintoki and Mitsuba walk toward her fiancรฉ's mansion, Hijikata and Yamazaki appear. Mitsuba faints just by looking at Hijikata. In truth, Mitsuba is suffering from a terminal illness and her body is failing. She is hospitalized. Hijikata has been investigating Mitsuba's fiancรฉ, suspecting him of being the mastermind behind the illegal drug trade he's been tracking. Okita hurls verbal abuse at him, and Hijikata leaves in silence. Flashback: Hijikata and Mitsuba were secretly in love. However, when Hijikata's departure for Edo was decided, Mitsuba gathered her courage and confessed to him. "Please, take me with you." Hijikata replied sharply, "I have no interest in someone like you." Back to the present, at the headquarters dojo: Okita tells Hijikata to wait before arresting the fiancรฉ, because Mitsuba doesn't have much time left. Hijikata confronts the fiancรฉ alone, but finds himself in a desperate situation. Just then, Okita rushes in and finishes off the fiancรฉ. Final scene. At the hospital: Okita stays close by Mitsuba's side. Too spicy (karai), too painful (tsurai). ๐
