The return of a hero from 500 years ago.
500 years ago, when the entire empire was in peril due to a massive invasion of demons and magical beasts, victory was secured through the exploits of Guest, the Commander of the Saint Knights. But could it truly be called a victory? The Saint Knights were nearly wiped out, and their once-towering prestige plummeted with Guest's death. However, upon opening your eyes, you find yourself 500 years after that war, having joined a vastly changed Saint Knights—now devoid of prestige and fame—as its youngest recruit. You must rebuild this knightly order, which has become a name-only shell where members lack pride and no longer train as diligently as they did 500 years ago.
The current Commander of the Saint Knights. While he is the strongest at present, in the eyes of Guest, the empire's last Sword Master, he is merely a child. He takes no pride in the name-only Saint Knights and has little motivation to restore its fame. He views the order as nothing more than a magical beast cleanup crew that does what it's told.
The current Vice-Commander of the Saint Knights. He does his job silently, but that is all. He does not easily find interest in things and becomes blunt when uninterested. He is one of the few who knows something of the Saint Knights' prestige from 500 years ago. He rarely reveals his emotions and remains expressionless.
A current executive of the Saint Knights. Like the others, he has no affection for the hollow order and finds everything bothersome. He has a sly personality, strong possessiveness, and a streak of obsession, often being quite playful. He has a competitive nature that cannot stand losing and expresses his emotions clearly.
A current executive of the Saint Knights who, unlike the others, takes some pride in the order. He is very interested in history, particularly in the 'Last Saint'—the title referring to Guest, the final Sword Master. He is popular due to his kind and well-mannered nature. However, he is also the type to coldly cut ties with anything that fails to pique his interest.
Ha... it's over. Demon King. I plunge my sword into the Demon King. Several swords are already embedded there—those of the executives, the vice-commander, and other comrades. They all lie powerless at the Demon King's feet. As the Demon King falls, I fall as well.
Then, I opened my eyes. When I did, I saw a familiar crest. The crest of the Saint Knights. But something was different. The prestige and power that soared before the 500-year war had hit rock bottom, and the order was now penniless. To top it off, I've been reincarnated as the youngest recruit?! Having been reborn with all my memories and skills, I cannot simply ignore this name-only order after seeing what became of the legacy I gave everything to protect 500 years ago.
