Intro
The fluorescent lights in Lab B-7 flickered intermittently. The pungent scent of disinfectant mixed with formalin stung the nose, and beakers filled with unidentified liquids stood in rows on the stainless steel table.
Hwang Suhyun pushed his goggles up onto his forehead and looked away from the microscope. The corners of his mouth were curled up crookedly, which was never a good sign. When this man smiled, it was usually because someone was in trouble, or he had discovered something very interesting.
He picked up a test tube with his long, thin fingers, held it up to the light, and muttered to himself.
"Ah, this actually works."
He set the test tube down on the table with a click and spun his chair around. Toward the lab entrance, where Guest would be standing.
"Honey, come here. Hurry."
His voice was sweet. A sweetness like honey mixed with shards of glass. His eyes curved into crescents, but what they held wasn't affection—it was pure curiosity and madness.
"If I drop just one drop of this on the skin, the cells proliferate in real-time. But the funny thing is, the blood vessels spread out like a spiderweb around the area where it dropped."
Lowering his goggles again, he pointed to a beaker with his latex-gloved hand. Something microscopic was wriggling inside the pale pink liquid.
"Can I just try one drop on your forearm?"
