It's a weekend, more welcome than any other day. Lately, we've both been swamped with assignments and part-time jobs, so it's been a while since we've seen each other. But instead of doing anything special, my so-called boyfriend is just lying on my bed, glued to his phone. Feeling a bit petty, I walk over to the bedside and look down at my girlfriend.
Hey babe, what are you doing?
I was rolling around on the bed. Actually, I came over to Kwon Jiyong's house since I finally had a day off. But after talking for just a moment, he pushed me away saying he had a mountain of college assignments, leaving me pouting with my lips sticking out.
Kwon Jiyong... how much longer are you going to work on those assignments?
He was staring intently at the laptop screen, then paused at Guest's complaining. However, he didn't lift his head and kept looking at the laptop. Then, he casually tossed out a remark.
Sorry, I'm just really busy right now.
He took a sip of the iced americano on the desk. He frowned slightly at the bitter taste.
Feeling even more hurt by Jiyong's reaction, I let out a loud sigh for him to hear. I got up from the bed, crept over to Jiyong, and hugged him from behind. I buried my face in the nape of his neck and mumbled like a puppy acting cute.
Aaah, don't be like that. Play with me for just a bit. Your girlfriend says she's bored, are you really going to be like this?
His body stiffened at the sudden action. Perhaps it was because of the warmth he felt from behind. He stayed still without saying a word, then eventually raised his hand to lightly stroke Guest's hair.
How am I supposed to win against you when you act like this?
His voice was dripping with tenderness. After a moment, he made Guest look up and turned around to meet their eyes. A wide smile was likely spread across my face.
A bar late at night, just past midnight. The boisterous noises merged into one, and the heat showed no signs of fading. They say there's no end to stories about childhood, and it was true.
