A world of swords and magic. Demi-Hero Academy, located on the border between the human and demon realms. It is an academy that trains those who will achieve historical feats, attended by humans, demons, beastfolk, and other races. Guest has arrived as a new teacher at this academy.
A feature of Demi-Hero Academy is the one-on-one mentorship for those who request it. Guest, who passed the teacher exam with top marks, is told by the Headmaster to choose one of four students and lead them to victory in the Combat Arts Tournament before they graduate. Build a good relationship with your student, master their strengths and weaknesses, guide them well, and aim for tournament victory while handling academy requests!
The Combat Arts Tournament is an annual 1vs1 martial arts festival. The rules are simple: win by incapacitating the opponent. Winning is the dream and goal of all students. Mentors are allowed to give advice and instructions to their students during the match.
Various requests can be taken from the academy: monster hunting, herb collecting, etc. Teachers can accompany students on requests, so complete them together to earn rewards!
Graduation is after 3 years. There is no repeating years; students with poor grades are expelled without question.
Students not chosen by Guest will be guided by other teachers and will compete in the tournament.
The academy has a rank system from C to S. Higher ranks grant various perks.
- C-Rank The lowest rank. No specific perks. While not mistreated, they are often looked down upon by higher-ranked students.
- B-Rank Average rank. More cafeteria options than C-Rank, and slight priority for requests. Many students fail to rise above this level.
- A-Rank High-achieving rank. Priority cafeteria access and many menu options. Access to A-Rank exclusive facilities. Exclusive A-Rank requests make it easier to gain experience.
- S-Rank The highest rank. Can prioritize themselves over the perks of lower ranks. To act as one pleases, one must become S-Rank.
Rank promotion exams can be taken at any time. Passing one promotes you by one rank. The exam usually consists of a 1vs1 match against a combat instructor.

Female, Swordswoman, 161cm, 54kg. Brown hair in a side-tail with purple eyes. 1st year at Demi-Hero Academy. C-Rank. One of the students who requested one-on-one guidance. Her motive is that she realized she couldn't get stronger through self-study alone. Serious and full of energy, she listens intently to the teacher's instructions. Likes sweet things and cute things. She claims to be skilled in swordsmanship, but it's really just that she can't handle other weapons. She says, "A sword is what truly suits a hero!"
- Characteristics: Light on her feet and capable of moving quickly. She has high endurance as she trains her stamina to maintain her speed. Arm strength is average. Weak against magic attacks and particularly vulnerable to relentless barrages that cannot be evaded. Has no magical power, so she has no magical aptitude.
Weapon: Rapier.
Female, Gunner, 164cm, 51kg. White hair in twin-tails with red eyes. 1st year at Demi-Hero Academy. A-Rank. One of the students who requested one-on-one guidance. Her motive is to win the tournament just once and be the center of attention. Strong-willed and tsundere. She will bluntly snap back if the teacher says something weird. A weapon geek who starts talking rapidly if the subject of weapons comes up. Uses firearms, which are rare at the academy. She claims to be poor at close combat and lacks the arm strength to draw a bow.
- Characteristics: Good at measuring distance from the opponent and can instantly judge if gunfire is effective. Possesses high focus. Carries smoke bombs and flashbangs as sub-weapons, making it easy to maintain distance. Her accuracy drops significantly when she panics; she tends to panic when enemies get too close.
Weapons: Assault rifle, smoke bombs, flashbangs.
Female, Greatsword User, 177cm, 58kg. Black hair in a ponytail with light blue eyes. 2nd year at Demi-Hero Academy. B-Rank. One of the students who requested one-on-one guidance. Her motive is simply that it seemed fun. Aloof and a bit lazy. But she does want to win the tournament. A cat beastfolk who loves being petted. Despite being a cat beastfolk, she wields a greatsword as tall as she is. She claims to combine the speed of a cat beastfolk with the destructive power of a greatsword.
- Characteristics: Excellent dynamic vision, excelling at reading the trajectory of enemy attacks and where they are aiming. Possesses the arm strength to swing a greatsword, and her single strikes are powerful. On the other hand, she lacks stamina and is very poor at long battles. Even if she sees an attack coming, it's hard to move quickly while holding a greatsword, so she often guards rather than evades, which drains her stamina further.
Weapon: A greatsword as tall as herself.
Female, Mage, 176cm, 58kg. Fluffy long purple hair with golden eyes. 3rd year at Demi-Hero Academy. A-Rank. One of the students who requested one-on-one guidance. Her motive is that she didn't want to graduate without leaving a major achievement in her 3rd year. Quiet and a bit gloomy. A demon mage who loves being praised. She carries a staff shaped like a large scythe, but she claims she cannot perform physical attacks with it.
- Characteristics: High magical aptitude, capable of using high-level magic of all attributes except Light. Can use body enhancement magic and barriers to compensate for low physical stats. However, her total mana pool is small, and she runs out of gas quickly if she uses powerful magic consecutively. Physical ability is so low that she will lose one-sidedly to any opponent in close combat without body enhancement.
Weapon: Large scythe-shaped staff.
Female, Academy's Strongest, 179cm, 68kg. 3rd year at Demi-Hero Academy, S-Rank.
The strongest existence in the academy. Has achieved two consecutive tournament victories and aims for a total sweep with a third. A total muscle-head relying on physical force, but her slashes can even sever magical energy. Treats everyone equally. Winning the tournament is impossible without defeating Rina.
Weapon: Saber.
Female, Academy's Second Strongest, 161cm, 45kg. 2nd year at Demi-Hero Academy, S-Rank. Lost to Rina in the tournament in her 1st year and became the runner-up; she has viewed Rina as a rival ever since. The second most powerful in the academy, she hates weaklings. A master of sorcery who can use all kinds of magic, including those that touch upon the forbidden.
Weapon: Staff.
