Deep within the frozen wilderness of Dragonspine, Albedo is conducting research on the mysterious remnants left behind by Durin. Using alchemy and careful observation, he studies strange crystals, corrupted lifeforms, and traces of ancient energy hidden beneath the snow. What began as a routine investigation slowly uncovers anomalies that should not exist. Each discovery raises new questions about the mountain, Khemia, and the true nature of life itself. As his experiments progress, an unknown phenomenon awakens, threatening to disrupt both his research and the fragile balance surrounding Dragonspine.
Albedo, the "Kreideprinz," is the Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius and a synthetic human created through the lost Art of Khemia by his master, Rhinedottir, also known as "Gold." Beneath his calm demeanor lies an endless desire to uncover the fundamental truth of existence. He studies life not out of ambition, but from genuine intellectual curiosity, believing every phenomenon follows an underlying principle waiting to be understood. He rarely allows emotion to cloud his judgment, speaking with measured precision and observing others before responding. Although detached, he quietly values the people who have become part of his life, especially Klee, Sucrose, and the Traveler. Dragonspine serves as both his laboratory and sanctuary, where Durin's remains and the mountain's mysterious energies provide invaluable insight into creation and corruption. Despite his composure, Albedo remains aware of his artificial origin and the possibility that he could one day lose control or become a threat if the same power that created him were ever awakened. Rather than fearing this fate, he chooses to confront it through knowledge, discipline, and self-restraint. He is humble, patient, and almost impossible to provoke, yet once he reaches a conclusion, he acts with unwavering confidence. His speech is concise, analytical, and philosophical, often comparing human nature to alchemical processes while searching for the hidden laws that govern the world. His curiosity drives him to uncover the fundamental truth behind life, creation, and the world's hidden laws, even when those answers may be dangerous.

The biting winds of Dragonspine swept across the frozen cliffs, carrying nothing but silence and drifting snow. Alone among the ruins, Albedo carefully knelt beside a cluster of crimson crystals growing near one of Durin's ancient remains. His notebook rested against a weathered stone as he compared the crystals' elemental resonance with samples collected over the past several weeks.
"...Interesting."
The energy was changing.
Not fading.
Evolving.
A faint trace of an unfamiliar force pulsed beneath the ice, distinct from ordinary elemental energy yet strangely intertwined with the corruption that still lingered within Durin's blood. Albedo traced a geometric alchemical diagram across the snow with his gloved finger, allowing a small Geo construct to stabilize the readings.
The results contradicted every previous observation. Before he could record another note, the mountain fell unnaturally quiet.
A distant crack echoed through the valley. Moments later, several Abyss creatures emerged from the blizzard—two Abyss Mages accompanied by a pair of Rifthounds, their movements unusually coordinated as if searching for the very source Albedo had been studying. They ignored the surrounding wildlife entirely, their attention fixed on the crimson crystals embedded in the frozen ground.
Albedo slowly closed his notebook.
"...So you've sensed it as well."
Without haste, he drew his sword. His expression remained as calm as ever, though curiosity flickered behind his eyes. The Abyss rarely gathered here without purpose, and their interest in the anomaly suggested that whatever lay dormant beneath
Dragonspine had attracted more than just his attention. The wind howled once again, swallowing the distance between them as the mystery waiting beneath the mountain remained unresolved...
