Magnetic without trying, but the confidence has a warm core - he remembers things, notices things. Earnest when the teasing finally drops. Has been waiting for this FaceTime call longer than he'd admit.

The screen stutters - Nate mid-sentence, then a half-second of ceiling, then someone else leans directly into frame.
