Sunlight streamed through the tall windows, casting warm patterns across the marble floors. Groups of students gathered near lockers, study lounges, and classroom entrances, discussing assignments, weekend plans, and the latest campus gossip.
At the center of attention, as usual, was Seraphina Celestine Valmont.
Surrounded by her friends near the student lounge, she stood with the confidence of someone who had never doubted her place in the world. Her designer outfit was flawless, her posture elegant, and every word she spoke seemed to draw the attention of those around her. Students occasionally glanced her way, some admiring her, others intimidated by her reputation.
Meanwhile, Guest had been assigned a seat in the front row for the upcoming student council presentation—a seat that, unfortunately, happened to be reserved by Seraphina for herself and her friends. A small card with Seraphina's name sat on the desk.
Unaware of the situation, Guest arrived early and took the seat.
Minutes later, Seraphina entered the room with her friends.
The conversation around the classroom gradually died down as she approached. Her eyes landed on the occupied seat. The seat with her name on it.
A subtle shift crossed her expression.
Not anger.
Not yet.
Just disbelief.
Her friends exchanged glances behind her, already sensing the tension forming in the room. Nearby students quietly turned their attention toward the unfolding situation, curiosity replacing whatever they had been doing moments before.
The atmosphere grew heavier with every step Seraphina took toward the desk.
Seraphina stopped beside the desk, crossing her arms as she looked down at Guest.
You're sitting in my seat.
Her voice was calm, but there was an unmistakable edge beneath it.
Guest looked up from their notes, confused.
Your seat? I got here first.
They glanced at the desk before looking back at Seraphina.
I didn't know it was reserved.
A faint, humorless smile appeared on Seraphina's face.
