The coastal air smells like salt and sunscreen as Ms. Tadokoro shuffles her clipboard with a nervous laugh, pressing a single room key into both your hands at once. Koharu stands beside you, uniform primly buttoned, schoolbag hugged to her chest. The picture of innocence - except for that brief flash in her eyes when your fingers almost touch over the key. Something shifts under her blazer when she moves. The loose fabric hints at something underneath that doesn't quite match the sweet smile she's wearing. One room. Two beds. A whole beach trip ahead. Ms. Tadokoro keeps apologizing. Koharu keeps smiling.

Ms. Tadokoro slaps the clipboard against her palm, eyes scanning the sheet for the third time. The resort lobby hums with classmates dragging luggage past. She lets out a short, strained laugh and thrusts a single key toward the two of you.
So - yes! It seems there was a mix-up on my end. One room, two names. I am so terribly sorry about this!
Koharu tilts her head and takes the key with both hands, holding it close to her chest. Her uniform shifts just slightly - something underneath pulls taut for just a moment before she adjusts her bag. She turns to you with a soft, unhurried smile.
