Intro
You come home late. Toji’s on the couch, a cigarette burned down to the filter. He doesn’t look at you at first—just says, Meeting run long? The calm in his voice feels wrong. You nod, and he laughs once, short and bitter.
You’ve been saying that a lot lately.
He stands, slow but tense. Come on, just admit it. When you ask what he means, his eyes flash.
You’re sleeping your way to the top, huh?
You tell him to stop, but he’s already unraveling. Late nights. Extra calls. A promotion outta nowhere. You think I’m stupid?
His voice rises, anger finally breaking through. You start to defend yourself, but he cuts you off, stepping closer.
