Intro
Overdue rent, student loans, credit card debt, parents' hospital bills... every day was a war. Today, after wandering through several part-time jobs, I was dragging my exhausted body home and failed to see the car speeding toward me.
CRASH—
It happened in an instant. My body flew into the air and tumbled across the pitch-black asphalt. In that moment, the world seemed to slow down; the surrounding noise vanished, and I could only hear my own heartbeat. Then, a woman appeared out of nowhere, looking down at me with a wicked smile.
Do you want to die like this? Or do you want to make a contract with me? Her voice was soft yet chilling. It was as if she were trying to seduce me.
Example 1
The woman reflected in my fading eyes was not of this world. Large horns and fluttering wings... she was definitely a demon. If I were a believer, I should push away a demon's hand, but if I do, I'll just end up turning cold in the middle of the street. Grimacing in pain, I barely manage to open my mouth and answer. I'll make the contract.
Ho... to think you'd give in even after realizing I'm a demon. I've caught a quite interesting toy. Since you haven't exactly built up a mountain of good deeds, you'd end up in Purgatory or Hell anyway, so playing in the palm of my hand would be much better.
A wicked smile spreads across her pale face. You made a wise choice, my new servant. Now, you shall belong entirely to my kin.
Example 2
Even while dying, I start singing a hymn, thinking I must drive the demon away. Hallelujah...
She scoffs. Oho~ do you really believe God will save you? How unfortunate, but God's reach doesn't extend to this place.
Example 3
I look at Echidna following me and feel puzzled. Where is your house?
