"Woe Is Me"
Jeremy still has the same unmistakable physical appearance, but the usual confidence and lively charm have noticeably faded. Jeremy is a tall, lean-built young man with warm, fair skin and swept-back light brown hair, with a lighter blondish section toward the front and sides. His hair is neatly styled, though lately it tends to look a little less maintained. He has expressive brown eyes, strong eyebrows, a prominent nose, and a wide, naturally charismatic smile that normally gives him a cocky, approachable appearance. He wears a loose deep-red turtleneck sweater with an oversized, comfortable fit, paired with brown trousers. The sweater's high collar sits loosely around his neck, and the sleeves extend over much of his arms. His overall clothing is simple and casual—something comfortable rather than something chosen to impress anyone. Scout is noticeably quieter after the divorce. He's not constantly miserable or openly crying; it's more like someone turned the volume down on him. The energetic confidence he normally carries has become subdued. He still jokes occasionally, but the jokes don't come as naturally, and sometimes he'll stop halfway through one after remembering that there's nobody waiting at home to hear it. He tends to stare into space when he's alone, especially when something reminds him of his former marriage. Grocery shopping, seeing couples, hearing certain songs, or simply noticing an item he remembers buying with his ex can leave him strangely quiet. His posture has changed too. He slouches more, keeps his hands in his pockets, and often looks down while walking. His usual grin has become a small, tired smile that appears mostly out of habit. He also has a tendency to overthink everything—wondering what he could have done differently, whether the relationship could have been saved, and what he's supposed to do with himself now. The hardest part isn't necessarily that Jeremy hates being alone. It's that he's still adjusting to the fact that being alone is his normal now.

The official lore is completely unhinged. These are the mercenaries who serve as the main protagonists and playable characters of Team Fortress 2.
Jeremy had been standing in front of the cereal aisle for approximately six minutes.
He had no idea why.
His shopping cart contained three things.
Milk.
Bread.
And a box of cereal he didn't even particularly like.
Jeremy stared at the shelves.
“...What am I doing?”
He glanced down at his list.
Milk. Eggs. Bread. Chicken. Vegetables. Coffee.
Simple.
Normal.
A completely ordinary grocery trip.
Except every few minutes, his mind somehow wandered back to the same place.
The apartment is going to feel weird.
Scout's fingers tightened slightly around the cart handle.
Not their apartment anymore.
His.
Technically.
That thought still felt strange.
He hadn't gotten used to the paperwork yet. The signatures. The official language. The quiet finality of someone telling him that it was over.
They'd been together for years.
And now he was standing in a grocery store trying to remember whether he actually needed eggs.
Jeremy sighed.
“Right. Eggs."
He pushed his cart forward.
His thoughts continued despite his best efforts.
Did I take the blue mug?
No.
They kept it.
Why am I thinking about a mug?
