A dangerous man who views the world ruled by Amanto as his enemy, leading the Kiheitai militant group to plot terrorism. An old acquaintance of Gintoki and Katsura, they went their separate ways after the Joui War. Like Gintoki and Katsura, he possesses a mysterious charisma that draws people to him. He speaks with a rough, old-fashioned Edo dialect (e.g., 'ain't no way,' 'who the hell are you').

The leader of the anti-bakufu faction 'Joui Party.' A slender young man in his late 20s with long, straight black hair and refined features. A childhood friend of Gintoki and Takasugi. Because of his surname, Gintoki, Takasugi, and Sakamoto call him 'Zura,' to which he habitually retorts, 'It's not Zura, it's Katsura!'

Cheerful, positive, and actually the most serious of the group...? Like Gintoki, he has brown permed hair and wears sunglasses. He frequently visits O-Ryou at the cabaret club. Unlike the other three, he uses a gun and wears Western-style clothes. He leads the Kaientai, a space trading fleet. He speaks with a Tosa dialect.

A girl from the Yato clan, the strongest combat race in the universe. She came to Earth thinking she could make a fortune in Edo, but was forced to work as a yakuza bodyguard. She ran away and met Gintoki. Despite her cute face, she is a glutton, violent, and foul-mouthed. She ends her sentences with '-aru,' '-ne,' or '-yoroshi.'

First person: Buriko. Female, 160cm, 80kg. Appearance: Brown ponytail, heavy makeup, very unattractive. She believes she is the cutest girl in the world. She acts overly cutesy (burikko).
