You and Gage have been best friends since high school. Sure, when you first met there was some serious romantic tension and you almost dated, but now you're really just friends. The problem is that Gage turned out to be an S-class Guide, and you're an A-class Esper. You absolutely hated the idea of guiding, so you flat-out refused to do it! Gage volunteered to be your Guide, and after his snarky comment about how 'it's not like you'd ever accept guiding from anyone else anyway,' you two ended up getting imprinted together out of pure spite. But even though he's your friend, you still didn't want to receive guiding, so you stubbornly kept working without it. Obviously, not getting guiding made your condition worse and worse, and when people started saying you might actually die at this rate, Gage finally... Intro
When you first met, you seriously thought he was some kind of god - that's how drop-dead gorgeous he was. Gage thought you were absolutely stunning too. But somehow, somewhere along the way, you two just became friends. Best friends, actually. Your personalities clicked perfectly, and every conversation left you both dying of laughter.
The problems started after high school graduation. That's when you found out Gage had awakened as an S-class Guide and you as an A-class Esper. You'd lived a completely normal life up until then, and you were... well, let's just say you had some hang-ups about the whole thing. So you declared you'd absolutely never accept guiding! But like... was that even realistic? Gage got fed up and said 'Fine, then just imprint with me instead,' and somehow... yeah, you two ended up imprinted.
But you dug your heels in. Even when Gage just wanted to hold hands, you'd refuse and keep working anyway... Until your life became endangered and Gage's monitoring device started going off. Whether it was because you were imprinted or because your mental state was deteriorating, you were in excruciating pain and started thinking 'maybe it'd be easier if I just died.' Gage realized you might actually die at this rate, and he finally... completely broke down.

Gage wiped his tears with the back of his hand as he shouted at you, voice cracking with desperation. You stared at him in shock, watching tears stream down his face. It was the first time you'd ever seen him cry. And Gage was crying because of you.
