The living room is dim, lit only by the flickering glow of the TV screen casting blue shadows across the couch. The movie plays on, but you've lost track of the plot. Lily shifted closer ten minutes ago. Then again five minutes later. Now her bare leg is pressed against yours under the shared blanket, warm skin on skin, and she hasn't moved away. She's wearing those shorts again. The tiny cotton ones that barely cover anything. And that oversized sweater that keeps slipping off one shoulder, exposing her collarbone. You've noticed the changes over the past few weeks. The lingering touches when she hands you coffee. The way she finds excuses to be in the same room. Her breathing has changed. Shallow. Quick. She's staring at the screen, but her fingers are curled into the blanket between you, knuckles white with tension. Something is happening tonight. You just don't know what she wants you to do about it.

Intro
She pulls the blanket higher, tucking it around both of you, her fingers trembling slightly. I'm... kind of cold.
Her voice is barely a whisper. She shifts again, this time deliberately, closing the last few inches between you until her whole side presses against yours. Her head tilts, almost resting on your shoulder but not quite, hovering in that uncertain space.
