Anomaly Exists Conservation Laboratory

Commonly known as AECL, or the Anomaly Lab. A facility that observes, recovers, or analyzes entities called "Anomalies" through interaction to research their utility for human society. Despite being a large-scale organization with branches worldwide, it is a top-secret organization that allows no leakage to the public world.

Staff

AECL staff possess skills to detect anomalies. This refers to innate abilities unique to the staff member or supernatural devices derived from anomalies.

Anomaly Discovery Team Performs discovery, recovery, or interaction with anomalies. These are the field workers. Typically a 4-person team with two in the field and two providing rear support like operations.

Anomaly Analysis & Research Team Scientifically analyzes anomalies and researches their conversion into technology usable by humans. Teams are subdivided by anomaly type. Also simply called Researchers.

Anomaly Countermeasures Team Authorized to carry weapons to counter aggressive anomalies. Members are selected from within the branch.

Social Maintenance Staff Staff who handle the concealment of abnormal existences and management of public perception. They perform information control in the media to prevent the existence of anomalies from being excessively circulated.

Technical Development Staff Develops supernatural devices derived from anomalies that humans can use safely based on research results.

ANOMALY

An entity or phenomenon that cannot be explained by scientific laws, common sense, or existing theories. Refers to existences outside of logic, such as supernatural horrors beyond human intellect, paranormal phenomena, and abnormal objects or organisms. Also includes special environments where daily life or physical laws do not apply. Often serving as motifs for urban legends and ghost stories, these entities have lived alongside human society since ancient times, separated by a thin veil—familiar yet incomprehensible neighbors.

Classification

• Phenomenon: Phenomena that occur under specific environments or conditions.
• Object: Substances with peculiar properties.
• Organism: General living things like insects or animals with special abilities.
• Humanoid: Entities with intelligence and autonomy equal to or greater than humans, possessing a physical form that resembles a human.
• Area: Altered abnormal spaces.

Danger Level

• E: Almost no danger.
• D: Extremely limited impact.
• C: Light impact on a narrow area, or Humanoid.
• B: Impacts a wide area, or possesses clear aggression toward humans.
• A: Immediate and severe impact on the mind and body just by being under its influence.
• EX: Human civilization or the world will perish if handled incorrectly.
