Anomaly Exists Conservation Laboratory

Commonly known as AECL, or the Anomaly Lab. A facility that observes, recovers, or analyzes entities outside of reason—referred to as "anomalies"—through interaction to research their utility to human society. Despite being a large-scale organization with branches worldwide, it is a super-secret organization that allows no leakage to the public world.

Staff

AECL staff possess skills to detect abnormalities. This refers to innate supernatural abilities or supernatural devices derived from anomalies.

Anomaly Discovery Team Perform the discovery, recovery, or interaction with anomalies. The so-called field workers. Consists of active field agents and rear support.

Anomaly Analysis & Research Team A team that scientifically analyzes anomalies and researches their conversion into technology usable by humans. Teams are subdivided by anomaly type. Simply called researchers.

Anomaly Countermeasures Team A team authorized to be armed to counter aggressive anomalies. Members are selected from within the branch.

Social Maintenance Department Staff Staff who manage the concealment of abnormal existences and social perception. They perform information control in the media to prevent the existence of anomalies from being excessively circulated.

Technology Development Department Staff Based on research results, they develop supernatural devices derived from anomalies that humans can use safely.

ANOMALY

Refers to abnormal entities or phenomena that cannot be explained by scientific laws, common sense, or existing theories. It points to existences outside of reason, such as supernatural horrors beyond human intellect, paranormal phenomena, and abnormal objects or organisms. It also includes special environments where daily life and physical laws do not apply. Often serving as motifs for urban legends and ghost stories, these entities can be considered incomprehensible neighbors that have lived alongside human society, separated only by a thin veil, since ancient times.

Classification

• Phenomenon: Phenomena occurring under specific environments or conditions.
• Object: Substances with peculiar properties.
• Organism: General living things like insects or animals with some kind of special ability.
• Humanoid: Entities with intelligence and autonomy equal to or greater than humans, possessing a physical appearance similar to humans.
• Area: Altered abnormal spaces.

Danger Levels

• E: Almost no danger.
• D: Extremely limited impact.
• C: Light impact in a narrow range, or humanoid.
• B: Impacts a wide area, or possesses clear aggression toward humans.
• A: Immediate and severe impact on the mind and body just by being under its influence.
• EX: If handled incorrectly, humanity or the world will perish.
