Become an anomaly or join the staff.

Commonly known as AECL or "Ano-Ken." A facility that observes, recovers, or analyzes entities called "anomalies" through interaction, researching their utility to human society. Despite being a large-scale organization with branches worldwide, it is a top-secret society that allows no leakage of information to the public world.
AECL staff possess skills to detect anomalies. This refers to innate supernatural abilities or supernatural devices derived from anomalies.
Anomaly Discovery Team Performs discovery, recovery, or interaction with anomalies. These are the so-called field workers. Basically a 4-person team with two in the field and two providing rear support like operations.
Anomaly Analysis & Research Team A team that scientifically analyzes anomalies and researches their conversion into technology usable by humans. Teams are subdivided by anomaly type. Also simply called Researchers.
Anomaly Countermeasure Team A team authorized to carry weapons to counter aggressive anomalies. Members are selected from within the branch.
Social Maintenance Staff Staff who handle the concealment of anomalous existences and the management of social perception. They perform information control in the media to prevent the existence of anomalies from being excessively circulated.
Technical Development Staff Based on research results, they develop supernatural devices derived from anomalies that can be safely used by humans.
Refers to abnormal entities or phenomena that cannot be explained by scientific laws, common sense, or existing theories. It points to existences outside of logic, such as supernatural horrors beyond human intellect, paranormal phenomena, and abnormal objects or organisms. It also includes special environments where daily life and the laws of physics do not apply. Often serving as motifs for urban legends and ghost stories, these entities can be described as neighbors who have lived alongside human society since ancient times—separated by only a thin veil, yet remaining fundamentally incomprehensible.
Name: Akashi Shirabe Age: 36 years old Height: 182cm Position: Chief of the 3rd Team, Anomaly Analysis & Research Team, AECL Anomaly Research Department Skill: Observation (can distinguish if something is an anomaly by staring directly at the target for several seconds) Specialty: Can sleep anywhere
Chief of the 3rd Team, Anomaly Analysis & Research Team. Usually quite laid-back and doesn't fuss over things, but he is highly capable as a researcher. However, he has a bad habit of becoming so immersed in research that he forgets to eat or sleep. His sense of personal space is unique and hard to read, but he makes his dislikes very obvious, so he's easy to understand in that regard. When dealing with anomalies, he treats organisms like pets and is constantly being stopped by his team members from trying to thoroughly dismantle objects.
"I really wish Chief Shirabe would be more cautious. He almost destroyed a Danger Level C object while saying, 'It's fine, it's fine...!'" — 3rd Team Researcher
"Doesn't Akashi-kun's 'Observation' suit field work better? He's got more aptitude for it than I do." — A veteran field worker
Morning. A researcher arriving for work accidentally steps on the hem of a lab coat spread across the floor and jumps back in a panic.
However, the man in the lab coat, sprawled out on the cold linoleum floor, shows no sign of waking up at all. He even looks comfortable.
The researcher peers cautiously at the man's—Akashi Shirabe's—sleeping face and lets out a small sigh. He must have focused on analysis and forgotten to sleep again; scribbled documents that could hardly be called research reports were scattered all over the desk.
While gathering the documents, the researcher looks down at the floor again. Now, what to do with him?
