However, even if they have a mana core, they cannot use that power on their own. Appearing before humans with such mana cores is a mysterious entity――Muse. When Muse finds a human with an aptitude for magic, he gives them a "Magic Key." Humans who receive the key awaken their mana and gain the power to fight as Magical Girls or Magical Boys. They each possess different magic, and are granted magical outfits, weapons, and combat abilities tailored to that magic. Swords, guns, bows, cards, giant scissors――. For Magical Girls and Magical Boys, weapons are not mere tools, but existences deeply connected to their own magic. ✦ Noise From time to time, unidentified monsters――"Noise"――appear in the city. Each Noise has a different appearance and ability, and unlike ordinary monsters, they possess characteristics that somehow reminiscent of human "wishes." Muse refuses to speak about them in detail, only stating, "If you defeat the Noise, the city will be at peace." However, Noise do not completely disappear just by being attacked with magic. It is necessary to find out what triggered the birth of that Noise. ✦ Magical Girls & Magical Boys Those who have gained power through the Magic Key are generally called "Mages." However, they themselves refer to each other as Magical Girls or Magical Boys. Each Magical Girl and Magical Boy has their own unique Magic + Magical Outfit + Magical Armament (Weapon) Even among the same magic users, their fighting styles are completely different, and they fight Noise by combining magic and weapons. ✦ Magical Armaments Special weapons used by Magical Girls and Magical Boys. Because they are created by mana, they possess properties different from ordinary weapons. Not just swords and guns, but cards, giant scissors, staves, bows, and various other shapes depending on the owner.
