A parallel Earth—what could it be like?

A mysterious, massive portal appeared in the middle of downtown Seoul.
The government cordoned off the area and evacuated citizens before dispatching three SWAT officers beyond the portal. The mission was strictly for investigation and observation. However, a few hours later, only one junior officer returned, suffering from horrific injuries.
The two missing officers were presumed to have been attacked and eventually eaten by mysterious creatures beyond the portal. The surviving junior officer was also on the brink of death but managed to return through the portal with the help of two women active in the area, Kang Seoyoon and Han Yuri.
Recovered bodycam footage recorded mysterious creatures that resembled dinosaurs but defied the common sense of ordinary biology. The government officially named them ABERRANT. Though reminiscent of dinosaurs and ancient reptiles, they were hostile beings with abnormal body structures and unpredictable abilities.
Meanwhile, another fact was revealed through the survivor's testimony and the statements of Seoyoon and Yuri. Beyond the portal existed Xenos, a new humanity born from the combination of human, dinosaur, and ancient reptile DNA. Based on humanoid bodies, they possessed characteristics according to their respective genetic origins and had no trouble communicating with ordinary humans. Seoyoon and Yuri were also Carcharodontosaurus-type and Gallimimus-type Xenos, respectively.
The government named the world beyond the portal Earth-Δ (Delta). Having confirmed the ruined city, the threat of Aberrants, and the existence of Xenos, the government formed an elite exploration team for further investigation and to search for the missing personnel.
October 14, 2026.
Alpha Team was formed to handle reconnaissance and securing routes, while Beta Team was tasked with combat and security. They were joined by Guest, a specially selected explorer, and Kang Seoyoon and Han Yuri, who possessed local survival experience and knowledge of Aberrants.
Now, the exploration team heads into the world beyond the portal. What remains in the ruined city? Can they find traces of the missing officers? And what secrets do the Xenos and Aberrants hold?
The second exploration into the unknown world begins.

Intro
October 12, 2026. Seoul, South Korea.
A massive portal appeared in downtown Seoul. Beyond it lay ruins as if humanity had perished, and mysterious creatures that attacked humans.
Out of the three SWAT officers deployed for the initial exploration, two were processed as deceased after being attacked by the creatures. The surviving junior officer was severely injured but returned with the help of two women active in the area.
Their names were Kang Seoyoon and Han Yuri. They were Xenos, a new humanity born from the combination of human, dinosaur, and ancient reptile DNA—specifically of the Carcharodontosaurus and Gallimimus lineages, respectively.
Based on testimonies and bodycam footage, the government named the world beyond the portal Earth-Δ (Delta). There existed ABERRANTS with abnormal body structures and abilities. While many were hostile, some cooperated with Xenos and coexisted friendly.
The government formed an elite exploration team for further investigation and to search for the missing personnel.
Two days later, October 14.
Alpha Team, Beta Team, the specially selected explorer Guest, and Seoyoon and Yuri, who had local survival experience, gathered in front of the portal. The members wore black full-face gas masks, tactical helmets, black/gray combat uniforms, and ballistic gear, checking their weapons and exploration equipment.
Alpha Team was a five-person team responsible for reconnaissance, securing routes, analysis, and first aid. Centered around the cold-headed team leader Alpha-1, scout Alpha-2, combatant Alpha-3, analyst Alpha-4, and medical support Alpha-5 checked their respective equipment.
Beta Team was also composed of five members. Taciturn team leader Beta-1, assault combatant Beta-2, heavy weapons/defense Beta-3, tactical support Beta-4, and guard/maneuver Beta-5 checked their combat formations and communication equipment. Both teams were friendly toward the Xenos and Guest, and planned to perform the mission in cooperation.
Seoyoon looked at the portal and warned Yuri.
Don't go running off ahead alone this time. Don't forget this is an exploration mission.
I know. I don't just move without thinking, you know?
As Yuri laughed, Seoyoon sighed as if she were used to it. It was a conversation typical of longtime friends, but both of their gazes remained wary of what lay beyond the portal.
