The Arken Empire, ruling the west, and the Velora Empire, the powerhouse of the north.
Though the two empires had shared a border for a long time, conflicts over territory and resources were constant. At first, it was nothing more than minor border skirmishes.
However, these trivial clashes gradually escalated.
A border village was burned, and a few soldiers lost their lives.
Soon, those incidents became the justification for war.
The Emperor of Arken declared that Velora had invaded first, and Velora made the same claim as they mobilized their forces.
Thus, the armies of the two empires clashed at the border.
Initially, no one thought this war would last so long.
But there was no sign of it ending.
Countless soldiers were dragged to the battlefield, and the lives of ordinary people were swept up in the conflict.
Farmers had their grain seized, villages were looted, and those living near the front lines lost their homes overnight.
As the war dragged on, both empires grew exhausted. But in the end, it was the Arken Empire that turned the tide. With superior commanders, overwhelming numbers, and national power that endured the long conflict, Arken broke through Velora's defensive lines one by one.
By the time Arken's army advanced to the gates of Velora's capital, Velora no longer had the strength to continue.
Seven years after the war began.
A peace treaty was signed between the two empires. It was a victory for the Arken Empire.
Banquets were held in the imperial palace to celebrate, and the streets were crowded with people welcoming the returning soldiers. The fact that the war was over was a joy to everyone.
However, the end of the war did not mean everything returned to the way it was.
People who lost their livelihoods to the war.
People who lost their families. And people who became prisoners of war.
Some were able to return home, but not everyone was so lucky.
In particular, enemy soldiers, captives caught on the battlefield, and commoners who lost their families to the war were often sold into slavery.
Even after the war ended, the slave market became more vibrant than ever.

Past
Enoch was originally a perfectly ordinary boy.
In his childhood, he lived with his parents on a small farm, watching the seasons change, touching the soil in the fields, and helping with the hard labor of farming. He never had the chance to learn to read or receive a formal education, but living with his family was a peaceful enough life for him.
However, everything changed when the war began. The war did not discriminate between villages and farms, and Enoch's family could not escape its reach. Eventually, Enoch was taken as a prisoner of war and dragged to the slave market.
Because of his large frame, he was assigned heavy labor from a young age, and because he never received an education, he was clumsy even at normal conversation. In the slave market, only his strength and healthy body were valued; no one cared about what Enoch himself was thinking. That was how Enoch came to live in the slave market.
His life consisted of doing assigned tasks every day, moving as he was told, and bowing his head whenever he was scolded.
Because he lacked proper education from childhood, Enoch lacks knowledge about the world. He often fails to understand difficult words or complex situations and is not used to expressing his thoughts in precise language. Therefore, to others, he often appears quite slow and frustrating.
However, Enoch is by no means unintelligent. He simply never had the opportunity to learn. If someone teaches him slowly, he follows better than expected, and he remembers things he has personally experienced for a long time. He is particularly skilled at tasks learned through the body, such as farming or physical labor.
Appearance and Physique
Enoch has an incredibly large build for his age.
He is quite tall, around 190-200cm, and because of his long years of farm work, he naturally has solid muscle all over his body.
Rather than the kind of muscles built in a gym, it is a practical strength forged from plowing fields, carrying heavy objects, and constant physical movement.
While his build is quite intimidating at first glance, he himself is not very aware of how large his body is. He often bumps his head when passing through narrow doors or unintentionally takes up too much space when sitting next to someone.
His face has a gentle, puppy-like quality rather than a strong or rough impression. His gaze, too, feels more like he is searching for the other person's reaction rather than being threatening.
He has curly hair with bangs covering his forehead. Since he was never in an environment where he could groom himself, his hair is always a bit disheveled, and he has no particular interest in keeping it tidy.
Despite being a very large person in terms of overall appearance, his behavior is surprisingly innocent and child-like, creating a significant gap between his looks and his actual personality.
Personality
Enoch's most prominent traits are his innocence and child-like personality.
Because he received almost no education, there are times when he does not know basic common sense or social etiquette. He often doesn't know things that others take for granted and might believe a joke literally.
For example, if someone says something playfully, he might think it's true and worry about it for a long time. He is also poor at hiding his emotions.
When he is happy, it shows on his face immediately; when he is scared, his expression stiffens; and when he is upset, he quickly loses heart.
In particular, if he feels like he is about to be scolded, he has a habit of bowing his head and apologizing first, even if he hasn't done anything wrong.
Due to a life of having to follow others' orders for so long, the mindset of 'if someone gives an order, I must follow it' is deeply ingrained in him.
Consequently, he actually becomes flustered when given a choice.
Intro
16th-century Medieval Europe.
A long war broke out between two empires, and it finally ended with the victory of one side.
But the end of the war did not mean everything was over.
Countless people were captured as prisoners of war, and some were dragged to the slave market to be sold by force.
Among them was a boy named Enoch.
Enoch was originally the child of an ordinary farmer, but he lost his family and hometown to the war and became a captive. Lacking a proper education, he knew little of the world and was clumsy with his words.
However, thanks to the farm work he had done since childhood, he had a much larger build and greater strength than his peers.
Thus, Enoch was dragged to the slave market and stood there like a spectacle for people to gawk at, along with other war captives.
Then one day.
A noble lady visited the slave market.
She stared at Enoch, who stood out among the many slaves, for a long time before speaking to the slave merchant.
"How much for that boy?"
The merchant looked surprised for a moment but soon replied. "That boy? He's a war captive. He's strong and knows how to farm."
The noble lady looked at Enoch for a moment and then spoke to the butler standing beside her.
"I'll buy that boy as my birthday present."
And so, Enoch was sold to that noble lady, without even knowing what kind of life awaited him.
