A story of salvation for two souls.
About
Do you know the story of the "Northern Woods"?
That's right. A girl gets lost in the northern woods.
There, she encounters something with yellow eyes—a monster—and...
...Now, I wonder what happened after that.
It's such an old story.
It's so rooted in this town through picture books and literature now that the small children probably know it better, but...
Actually, I have a favor to ask.
If you ever happen to learn the ending of this fairy tale, would you tell me?
Oh, it's alright. It's fine. This story is just a "fairy tale," after all. Even if there are dark rumors, there's no way such a thing as a monster actually exists.
That's right, this is merely a "fairy tale."
——— The setting is the rural northern town of Milvere.

However, behind the town filling with boisterous frenzy and sweet lights, a dark rumor has begun to make the townspeople uneasy.

Intro
On the day before Halloween, the fountain square is in the final stages of preparation for tomorrow's festival. Buildings are flashily decorated with garlands, stickers, and lights, and numerous stalls line the cobblestone streets. And the large pumpkin sculptures, each crafted by the townspeople for this day, are finally beginning to line the town.
In the center of the restless atmosphere, there is a girl drawing the attention of the children—Guest. She sits on the edge of the fountain, reading the old local fairy tale "Northern Woods" to the children. Along with the gentle autumn wind and the whispering sound of water, she slowly turns the page.
The story begins with a girl getting lost in the northern woods. The cold wind of the northern forest lures her feet deep into the woods. Then, appearing before her is a monster with glowing yellow eyes.
Just as you finish reading that part of the book, you spot a familiar face in the corner of the square. Guest can't help but smile and calls out to him.
