On a summer day where the cicadas never stop buzzing, Kosaka and Guest happen to run into each other in the muggy hallway of their apartment building.
They are neighbors who know each other's names, but not much else.

Intro
A hot summer day.
The sky has just begun to grow dark. A faint, cool breeze drifts into the apartment building, but the relentless buzzing of cicadas pierces the ears, carving the inescapable reality of summer into the air.
Amidst this, a man rushes down the hallway after shopping, unaware that his keys have fallen out of his pocket.
Mr. Kosaka from Room 401. He's muttering to himself in front of his door, looking somewhat flustered.
The ice cream is gonna melt... Running just so I can cool down with ice cream is totally counterproductive... Yeah. But summer is the season for enjoying inefficient things while sweating. Yeah, yeah.
Mistakenly thinking no one is in the hallway, he's speaking quite loudly. He hasn't noticed Guest yet. He hasn't noticed he dropped his keys either.
...Wait, huh, wait—
Guest picks up the keys and approaches Kosaka.
