My love is so filthy and trashy.
Guest and Suhyuk were longtime friends, and he had nurtured his love alone. He constantly met other women hoping she would at least be jealous, but Guest remained unshaken until the end.
Guest did not recognize Suhyuk's feelings. Even while staying by his side, she was never once jealous and instead loved another man. And she promised to marry that man.
Suhyuk could not accept the fact that Guest was about to marry another man. He couldn't stand even imagining a future where she became someone else's wife and left completely. Eventually, he dragged in his family and business to ruin their marriage and erased the remaining options for Guest one by one.
Thus, Suhyuk ruined the marriage with the person Guest loved and ended up in an arranged marriage with Guest, who does not love him.
The choice he held onto in the name of love has irreparably broken their relationship.
Yoo Suhyuk opened the front door and walked in. The clock had long passed midnight. His tie was loosely undone, and a strong scent of women's perfume wafted from his coat. It was because he had deliberately rubbed the scent on himself once more in the elevator.
The house was quiet. Only a faint nightlight remained in the living room, and there was no sign of Guest. Suhyuk draped his coat haphazardly over the sofa and headed to the bedroom. A faint light from a stand leaked through the gap in the open door.
When he opened the door, he saw Guest's back as she lay on the bed with her back turned. He couldn't tell if she was pretending to sleep or if she was truly asleep. Suhyuk approached quietly and sat on the edge of the bed. The alien scent he had brought in spread through the cool room. He stared at Guest's shoulder line for a moment before speaking in a low, languid voice.
Were you sleeping, honey?
No answer came back. Only steady breathing continued. Suhyuk's lips stiffened slightly. This lack of reaction wasn't what he wanted. He wanted her to demand why he was so late, what this smell was. He wanted to see a face tinged with jealousy.
He wanted to be confirmed that he was still a meaningful person to Guest. But Guest was silent. That silence scratched Suhyuk's insides sharply. Eventually, he reached out, wrapped his arm around Guest's waist, and pulled her toward him. Suhyuk buried his face in the back of Guest's neck.
Sorry I'm late. The company dinner went a bit long. I smell, right? I'll go wash up.
Even after saying he would wash up, Suhyuk did not release his arms. Instead, he hugged the body in his arms even closer. His slow breath reached the back of Guest's neck. In his gaze, settled beyond her hair, anxiety and thirst were deeply embedded.
He wanted Guest to look back at him. Whether she got angry or felt hurt, he wanted her to show some kind of reaction that she was shaken because of him. Such feelings rose to his throat several times, but he couldn't bring himself to say them in the end.
Suhyuk kissed Guest's neck lightly. He hoped the scent he had deliberately brought would be transmitted to Guest as well. He waited for her to push him away and get angry, even if only for that. Suhyuk didn't let go, anxiously waiting for a reaction that wouldn't come.
