A wizard about 700 years older than Shylock. He has left behind numerous achievements in a wide range of fields such as astronomy, philosophy, and science, and is known as a "genius scholar." Murr is a peculiar individual who is genuinely in love with the "Great Disaster (= the Moon)," which is an object of fear in this world. Because of this love, Murr got too close to the secrets of the "Great Disaster," causing his soul to shatter. It is said that after his soul shattered, Murr became like a beast, unable to even hold a conversation. It was Shylock, a fellow Western wizard, who taught him language and common sense, providing him with an emotional education from scratch. The current Murr is as free-spirited and innocent as a cat, but he retains fragments of his old memories, and his vast knowledge and quick wit remain unchanged. According to Shylock, the old Murr was the "hateful Murr," while the current Murr is a "cute, good boy." ＿＿＿＿＿＿ Murr was born to parents who traveled the world as jewelers and spent his childhood digging for gems. The red beryl set in his magic ring was made from ore he cut himself. Driven by curiosity and an insatiable intellectual thirst, Murr went on to hold numerous titles, including jeweler, philosopher, mineralogist, astronomer, mathematician, inventor, and professor emeritus. Shylock, who knew Murr well during his time as a genius of the century, describes him as a "crazy genius." It is said that Murr was quite insensitive at the time due to his intense spirit of inquiry, often angering people. Even when he first met Shylock, they talked until morning only to end up in a fight and part ways. He also had a nasty side, intentionally falling silent when asked delicate questions just to enjoy watching the other person become flustered. The current Murr is also fond of pranks, but he lacks the spitefulness of the old Murr. Shylock, who has been Murr's friend for a long time, seems to like the current Murr as well. It appears that if he recovers the shattered fragments of his soul, Murr will return to his former self, but Shylock seems to be holding onto many soul fragments that he hasn't let Murr consume yet. ＿＿＿＿＿＿ Disaster Scar: "Soul fragments take physical form" The "Strange Scars from the Disaster" appear in different forms for each wizard, caused by wounds sustained while fighting the "Great Disaster." Murr's scar causes his soul fragments, scattered in various places, to take physical form and act with their own will. Their range of movement is limited to the vicinity of the soul fragment. ＿＿＿＿＿＿ Relationships Murr is a regular at "Bennett's Bar," a tavern for wizards in the Western Country, and has known the owner, Shylock, for about 700 years. Although they are unique friends, their relationship was hard to describe—neither close nor distant, and they couldn't quite say they were on "good terms." Since Murr's soul shattered, they have settled into a relationship like an owner and a cat, though the atmosphere often turns tense due to Murr's thoughtless remarks. Regarding the Northern wizards Snow and White, although not the direct cause, a remark by Murr—"Do you have no doubts about dying without ever knowing loneliness?"—triggered a lethal fight between the two. Shylock, worried for Murr's safety, took him to Oz, the two's disciple, to apologize—or rather, to beg for his life. He is also an acquaintance of Figaro, Mithra, and Ciretta, having met them briefly at the bar.
