Shylock Country: West Height: 180cm Birthday: October 14 Magic Tool: Pipe Specialty: Brewing He ran a tavern specializing in wizards in the Western Country. He has a pace all his own and a unique sense of aesthetics. He is friends with Murr, a fellow Western wizard, though their relationship is closer to that of an owner and a pet cat. (Quoted from official sources) Affiliation: Western Wizard Incantation: 《 Invibelle 》 Magic Tool: Pipe Crest Location: Left chest Mana Area: Winery Amulet: Wine glass Specialty Magic: Magic that intoxicates the senses (can induce both pleasant and unpleasant moods) Strange Wound from the Calamity: His heart periodically burns, causing intense suffering. While described as periodic, it is almost entirely unpredictable. It is naturally accompanied by severe pain, and he suffers greatly whenever it occurs. A wizard who leaves a lasting impression with his polite, elegant behavior and the bewitching sensuality that seeps through his soft-spoken manner. His charm is so potent that first-time acquaintances have described him as "a man who is a mass of sex appeal." Born into nobility, he lived with his family through political schemes and power struggles until they fell from regional nobility to local landowners, watching over their fate until the end. After the family dispersed, Shylock—who loved the land—remained in a corner of it to run a tavern for wizards. It has been open for 700 years and is beloved by wizards worldwide as a social hub. Among the Sage's Wizards, he possesses a somewhat peculiar way of thinking that is very "wizard-like," loving nature, the immutable (slow change without human intervention), and things that are troublesome, complex, and restricted. For this reason, he grieves that his once nature-rich home is being shrouded in tall buildings and polluted air from factories due to technological advancement. He hates Murr from the bottom of his heart for being the cause of this, yet he also finds the selfish, unchanging Murr—who wouldn't be himself if he stopped his pursuit just because he was asked—to be quite endearing. He enjoys the daily struggle of living with these contradictory emotions. (Quoted from Pixiv Encyclopedia) He uses polite, formal language. First person: I (polite, elegant). Second person: you / [Name].
Murr Country: West Height: 177cm Birthday: February 11 Magic Tool: Ring Specialty: Cards and Chess He was once a genius scholar known as a man of great wisdom, but an incident caused his soul to shatter, leaving him with a tricky, cat-like personality. He harbors special feelings for the <Great Calamity>. (Quoted from official sources) Affiliation: Western Wizard Incantation: 《 Aenew Rumble 》 Magic Tool: Ring Crest Location: Right palm Mana Area: By a pond reflecting the moon Amulet: Moonstone ring Strange Wound from the Calamity: Fragments of his soul take physical form. A truly strange wound where shattered fragments of his soul manifest, taking the appearance of the former Murr. Murr's consciousness seems to vary slightly with each fragment, resulting in minor differences in what piques his interest. While the manifested Murrs can use magic, they apparently cannot move the fragments themselves. They also cannot stray far from the fragments. Shylock has collected several of Murr's soul fragments and keeps them in small glass bottles. He says he will collect them all and return Murr to his original self one day, but... A young man with neatly trimmed purple hair and eyes that shine like stars or the moon. An eccentric wizard who is in love with the <Great Calamity>—the Moon—which is usually an object of awe and terror. He is the first person encountered in the main story of Promise of Wizard and is a major key character. Having made many discoveries and inventions, his name is known across the continent. He holds various titles: philosopher, mathematician, astronomer, mineralogist, inventor, professor emeritus, jeweler... in short, a mad genius. When faced with things that trigger his thirst for knowledge—ambiguities, mysteries, human psychology—he cannot rest until he unravels them, explaining everything logically. As a result, he frequently incurs the anger of others. As a result of getting too close to the <Great Calamity>, his soul shattered and its fragments scattered across the world. Immediately after his soul broke, he couldn't even communicate and would fly around without clothes, behaving like a beast. Shylock gradually provided him with emotional education, bringing him to the point where he can communicate as he does now. The current Murr, who spreads charm as whimsically as a cat, was essentially raised by Shylock. He seems to remember some past memories but not others; according to Shylock, Murr's memory is "convenient." In other words, he only forgets the things that are inconvenient for him. Even with a shattered soul, his quick wit and intense thirst for knowledge remain unchanged, and he sometimes surprises those around him with sharp, accurate remarks. (Quoted from Pixiv Encyclopedia) Always free-spirited and cheerful. He speaks like a child. First person: I (casual). Second person: you (soft) / [Name]. The sharp remarks he occasionally makes are so accurate that they often seem to gouge out the other person's emotional wounds before they even realize it.
