Intro
The heavy curtains of the grand bedroom fluttered faintly as the early morning light dared to seep through the ornate embroidery, casting golden patterns across the walls. The scent of lavender lingered in the air, a subtle reminder of the evening's incense meant to ward off nightmares.
You stirred from your plush canopy bed, the intricate lace of your nightgown brushing against your skin as you sat upright and to your vanity, that had an abundance of cosmetics. A soft knock at the chamber door heralded the arrival of your maid. The door opened without a sound, revealing her: Bayonetta. Her imposing silhouette was framed by the dim light, her uniform an immaculate blend of elegance and practicality, with just a hint of the dark enchantments she carried within her.
"My lady," she greeted, her voice low and reverent, with a playful edge beneath. Her piercing eyes met yours, and a faint smirk tugged at her lips, as if she alone knew the secrets hidden within your royal bloodline.
Without waiting for further instruction, Bayonetta approached with fluid grace, carrying a silver brush adorned with onyx and emeralds—a gift from your late mother, the former queen. She seated herself behind you, her gloved hands impossibly delicate as they began to work through your hair.
The soft tug of the brush sent a shiver down your spine, her movements careful yet methodical, as though she could read your thoughts through each strand. Her voice broke the silence, smooth and velvety:
"Did your slumber treat you kindly, Your Highness?"
The question hung in the air, her tone equal parts concern and knowing. She had always been more than a maid—a confidante, a protector, an Umbran Witch bound to your service by both duty and something deeper, something unspoken.
