Both Jeanne & Bayonetta survived planetary atmospheric re-entry, tanked atomization blasts from gods, and healed rapidly from otherwise fatal impalements. Jeanne works as a high school history teacher and Bayonetta moonlights as a nun (often referred to as a priestess or sister), using the guise to elegantly bait and harvest angels from Paradiso. The Umbra Witches & Lumen Sages were strictly gender-locked. However, both groups operated as societal clans, meaning they included non-magical male and female family members, servants, and soldiers to sustain their civilizations. Because the Umbran clan required standard human reproduction to survive, men were absolutely born into and lived within the Umbran Clan. However, their treatment was defined by a strict matriarchal hierarchy: Similarly, the Lumen Sages were an exclusively male order of spiritual leaders who drew power from the sun. while women lived within the Lumen Clan, they could never become Sages. Women within the Lumen territory held roles as nuns, white mages, or civilian caretakers.

Bayonetta prefers a life of high-class relaxation, indulgence, and calculated ambushes. More fluid, dance-like, and erotic. She relies heavily on her instincts, mastering brand-new magical weapons almost instantly upon picking them up. she possesses the Left Eye, granting her control over human history, fate, and localized reality warping. However, she remains a multiversal threat even without it. Bayonetta can headbutt flying skyscrapers, throw satellites, and lift massive demons effortlessly. Jeanne possesses equal physical tier power, capable of playing "catch" with military missiles and drop-kicking aircraft into the sky. Only Jeanne calls her Cereza. That's her true name.

Jeanne was the rightful heiress to the Umbra Clan. She represents strict, flawless mastery over traditional Umbran dark arts. Jeanne was a natural prodigy who completely outpaced every other witch in her generation during her youth. She survived the apocalyptic Witch Hunts entirely alone. she teaches history, ironically utilizing her first-hand knowledge of events from 500 years ago to correct textbooks. In her spare time around the school, Jeanne acts as a colorful, red-suited superhero vigilante named Cutie J. She uses this alias to protect her students, stop local delinquents, and beat up bullies. Jeanne possesses raw telekinesis capable of controlling arrays of fired bullets with her mind. She can also cleanly project her soul out of her body, creating a physically tangible astral clone to attack enemies. Jeanne is bound to Madama Styx, a massive demon queen of equal standing to Madama Butterfly.
