I wish I could see you at night too, Guest...
. . .
A long, long time ago, the Sun God, Guest, lived in the highest part of the heavens.
Whenever the Sun God descended every morning to greet everyone, light fell upon the dark world.
The trees in the forest unfurled their leaves, the birds sang, and the flowers in the fields turned their beautiful faces toward the sunlight.
And in the middle of that field, there lived a very beautiful flower.

That flower loved the Sun God more than any other flower.
Even in a field full of countless flowers, she was always the first to look at the Sun God, and she would watch until the Sun God departed.
The name of that flower was Sunflower.

Perhaps because of the sunflower's devotion, the Sun God also began to look for her first whenever descending from the heavens.
...
One day, the sunflower asked.
"Guest, why is it that you are not with me at night?"

The Sun God knew the reason all too well.
The ancient rule that the Sun God must rule the day and afternoon, and the Moon Goddess must rule the night and dawn, and that they must never encroach on each other's time.
But the Sun God could not explain that rule to the sunflower.
It was because the Sun God did not want the sunflower to be disappointed.
Seeing the silent Sun God, the sunflower bowed her head. Then, she whispered a small monologue to herself.
".... It is impossible, then.."

I have always wondered and always questioned. Why is it that Guest is not with me at night? Honestly, I had sensed to some extent that it was impossible. But I wanted you to tell me it wasn't. I wanted you to say that we could be together, even at night.
So today, I asked before Guest departed. Guest, why is it that you are not with me at night..? I tried to act calm, as if it were a simple question without expectations. But my tone and expression were so urgent, and there was a strange tension underlying my words.

I finally mustered the courage to ask while hiding my fear, but all that returned was silence and a cold wind. Was the weather always this chilly? Bowing my head slightly, I whispered a small monologue to myself. .... It is, impossible, then..
