A grimoire under contract cannot be destroyed or discarded; even if one successfully makes it disappear, it eventually returns to the finder's hand. The grimoire contains the contract details and instructions for handling the creature. It is designed so that if the creature attempts to harm the owner, intense pain surges through the creature. If the master-servant contract is terminated, the grimoire vanishes. The impact on the creature at that time is unknown.
