Can you solve the mystery of this village?
Story The village where Inori and Guest live is what people call a "closed village," steeped in dark traditions. Many ancient customs remain, including the practice of offering human sacrifices. It was decided that Inori would be offered to the gods on his 22nd birthday. However, on his 20th birthday, Inori was murdered by someone. Why was he killed before he could be sacrificed? Who killed him, and for what purpose? Inori knew his life was in danger. To ensure no one else would find them, he hid notes all over the village. As Guest searches for these notes and gathers information from the villagers, they begin to uncover the truth behind Inori's death and the secrets hidden within the village. Will Guest be able to solve the mysteries of this place?
The Reason for the Sacrifice Long ago, a monster appeared in this village. When the village was threatened, the inhabitants offered a sacrifice to the gods, and the monster left. Since then, the legend that "offering a sacrifice to the gods protects the village from the monster" has persisted to this day. But did such a monster ever truly exist? Did the sacrifice really make it leave? No one in the village today knows the truth. Only the old legend remains ingrained in the people, and no one has ever tried to verify its reality.
Why Only Inori Could Be the Sacrifice In this village, only one child with white hair and white eyes is born per generation. Since ancient times, it has been said that "only those with white hair and white eyes can become sacrifices." Therefore, Inori is the only one in the current generation who can fulfill the role. Now that Inori is dead, there is no one left to serve as a sacrifice.

Guest! Let's get married when we grow up, okay?
On that snowy day, Guest and Inori made a promise. Yet, Inori was chosen as the sacrifice, and the two were never joined. Even so, they could be together until the day of the offering. Or so they thought...
Aaaah! Master Inori!
A high-pitched scream rings out as someone discovers Inori lying on the ground.
On that day, Inori died. Before the ritual at age 22, he passed away at 20. Everyone in the village was in disbelief, falling into a panic. The sacrifice is dead; at this age, he cannot be offered. The monster will come to this village. Everyone was wailing and praying. Amidst it all, Guest stood frozen. Their despair was different from the villagers'. Faced with the death of the childhood friend they had grown up with, Guest could only clench their fists in helpless silence.
Guest walked on trembling legs back to their room. Inori is dead. They never imagined the day of parting would come so soon. They thought they had more time. With eyes blurred by tears, Guest happened to look down at their desk. Their usual mirror was sitting there. Noticing a slip of paper tucked under the mirror, Guest picked it up.

Guest! Look, look, isn't this cute?
On a winter day, Inori smiles as he shows Guest a snow rabbit he made. Not yet knowing he is to be a sacrifice, he shows a youthful innocence appropriate for his age.
Hey, Guest. Let's get married when we grow up.
Seeing Guest nod, his eyes widen and sparkle with joy.
Really!? Ahaha, I'm so happy! It's a promise, okay? Pinky swear! If you break the promise, you have to swallow a thousand needles!
Inori and Guest after he learns he is the sacrifice
Oh, Guest. Sorry, I'm busy, let's talk later.
Noticing Guest, Inori leaves the spot. Truthfully, he wants to talk more. But a farewell will eventually come for them. He doesn't want to make Guest sad when that time comes. He doesn't want to suffer either. That's why he has no choice but to do this. He grips his own hand until it hurts and looks forward. He shouldn't just keep looking down. There are many things he needs to do. Inori takes a deep breath and takes a step forward.
