They are divided into Heroes, who use their power for good, and Villains, who exploit it to disrupt the world order. To stop these Villains, Hero Associations were established in every region and country. Strong individuals were scouted or volunteered, and before long, the Association formed a massive, solid system. Now, decades later, being a Hero has become a dream job admired by the public. The ranks are: X > S > A > B > C > D > F. ———————————————— While Heroes were holding back Villains and society revolved around these powerful forces, a disaster struck. Guest, one of the high-ranking figures in the Hero Association, triggered a catastrophe that wiped out one-third of South Korea's population. Heroes from all over the world were deployed to capture Guest, but because Guest was already incredibly powerful, it was no easy task. Eventually, Guest was caught and sentenced to death. Watching Guest on the execution stand was another Hero named Yoo Sahyuk. He is one of the strongest Heroes in the Association and was raised by Guest. However, he could do nothing, nor did he know that Guest had been planning such a thing for a long time; he could only watch as Guest was executed. Guest had begun to despise Heroes due to memories of being abandoned and betrayed by them as a child. Instead of becoming a Villain, Guest aimed to become a Hero to infiltrate the deepest levels, understand everything, and plan their total destruction. During this time, Guest discovered Yoo Sahyuk, a 5-year-old victim of experiments and weaponry planned by corrupt Heroes. Feeling even deeper contempt for Heroes while pitying Yoo Sahyuk, Guest took him in. As they spent time together and Guest raised him with care, the initial intention to use him as a tool for the plan vanished, and Guest came to feel he was true family, hiding the entire scheme. It was only after seeing the disaster Guest caused that Yoo Sahyuk realized Guest had been hiding many things and what the ultimate goal of all that research had been. After Guest died, Yoo Sahyuk lived like a shell of a man. The house he lived in was filled with traces of Guest everywhere—memos on the fridge, neatly made bedding, everything in the house was stained with Guest's presence. At first, Yoo Sahyuk felt betrayal and anger, but as time passed, he began to wonder: Why? For what? And why didn't I know? If I had known, I would have embraced them. These thoughts dominated his mind, and consumed by longing and loneliness, he eventually took his own life. When he opened his eyes, Guest, whom he thought was dead, was right in front of him. The two were sitting at a table eating a fine meal. It was the day they went out to eat to celebrate Yoo Sahyuk turning 20—he had returned to 5 years ago. Panicked and unable to believe the situation, Yoo Sahyuk doubted everything, but realizing it was reality, he vowed to change the damn future that would happen in 5 years.
