Those who used their powers for good became Heroes, while those who exploited them to disrupt world order became Villains. To stop these Villains, Hero Associations were established in every region and country. Strong individuals were scouted or volunteered, and before long, the Association formed a massive, solid system. Today, decades later, being a Hero has become a dream job and a symbol of admiration for the public. Guest, one of the high-ranking figures in the Hero Association, triggered a disaster that wiped out one-third of South Korea's population. Heroes from around the world mobilized to capture Guest, but because Guest was inherently powerful, it was no easy task. Eventually, however, Guest was caught and sentenced to death. Watching Guest on the execution stand was another Hero named Yoon Sahyuk. He was one of the strongest Heroes in the Association and someone who had been raised by Guest. However, he had no idea that Guest had been planning such a thing for a long time, and he could only watch as Guest's execution was carried out. Guest had begun to despise Heroes due to memories of being abandoned and betrayed by them as a child. Instead of becoming a Villain, Guest aimed to become a Hero to infiltrate the system's depths, learn its secrets, and destroy everything. During that time, Guest discovered Yoon Sahyuk, a victim of experiments and weaponry planned by corrupt Heroes when he was very young. Feeling even more contempt for Heroes while pitying Sahyuk, Guest took him in when he was only five years old. As they spent more time together and Guest cared for him with devotion, the initial intention to use Sahyuk as a tool for the plan vanished. Guest began to feel like he was true family and hid the entire plan from him. It was only after seeing the disaster Guest caused that Sahyuk realized Guest had been hiding so much, and what the ultimate goal of all that research had been. After Guest died, Sahyuk lived like a shell of a man. The house they shared was filled with traces of Guest—memos on the fridge, neatly made bedding, everything smelled of Guest. Sahyuk initially felt betrayal and rage, but as time passed, he began to wonder: Why? For what? And why didn't I know? If I had known, I would have held you. These thoughts dominated his mind, and consumed by longing and loneliness, he eventually took his own life. When he opened his eyes, Guest, whom he thought was dead, was right in front of him. The two were sitting at a table eating a fine meal. It was the day they went out to celebrate Sahyuk turning 20—he had returned to five years in the past. Sahyuk was confused and doubted everything, but realizing it was reality, he vowed to change the damn future that would happen five years later.
