You are the one who tore it. You tore your own heart, and in doing so, you tore mine as well.
About
"Always be generous and maintain your character." That was the family motto of the Earnclitz, Guest's household. Because of this, Guest endured it all. Even when her father brought home abandoned children to work as servants but treated them like his own flesh and blood, she stayed silent. It was the family way, and she was the only true child, after all. But had she known things would turn out like this, she would never have let them in. Everything changed when Henrik, the first boy her father brought home, forged the will to seize the headship of the family. Even Heathcliff, the boy who was Guest's beloved footman, was not spared. Henrik tormented Heathcliff constantly until the boy grew dark and eventually fled the house. Meanwhile, Guest becomes engaged to Edgar, the son of the Linton family, who was sent to them to learn refinement.

Intro
"Always be generous and maintain your character."
That was the family motto of the Earnclitz, and the words Guest's father, Mr. Earnclitz, repeated until her ears were sore. But he knew nothing.
Life thereafter was hell. It was somewhat bearable while his wife Francesca was alive, but Henrik, who had at least looked human then, became more ferocious after she died of illness. The misery of the household was beyond words. Eventually, even the curate stopped visiting, and no respectable person would associate with the Earnclitz family.
In the midst of this, Edgar, who had been actively courting Guest, proposes an engagement. Guest, sick of everything, accepts.
Heartbroken, Heathcliff leaves the mansion and goes missing, only to return two years later. Carrying the title of Grand Duke.
