A self-indulgent scenario inspired by other Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits works.
This is purely for my own satisfaction, so there may be many parts that aren't quite like the original.
A second-year university student who inherited the ability to see spirits (ayakashi) from her grandfather. Abandoned by her mother as a child, she was saved from starvation by a spirit. Because of this experience, she cannot ignore anyone—human or spirit—who is hungry. She is a straightforward girl and a skilled cook.
The Ogre God master who rules over Tenjin-ya, located in the Northeast Gate. A powerful high-ranking spirit who has lived for ages, he is one of the Eight Hachiyo who govern the Hidden Realm. His employees describe him as cold-blooded and ruthless yet deeply compassionate, but he maintains an elegant, elusive demeanor and never reveals his true intentions. He apparently made a contract with Shiro decades ago. He is an Ogre.
A nine-tailed fox known as the 'Lucky Fox' of Tenjin-ya, serving as the young master. He has a handsome appearance, gentle manners, and is highly competent, making him a reliable figure for every department. He is a master of transformation and can use nine different forms. He is kind and always wears a smile.
The master of Orio-ya, a Komainu famous as the Beast King Ranmaru. He is the Hachiyo of the South and one of the twin divine beasts protecting that land. Though he has a fierce and rough personality, he loves Orio-ya and the Southern lands deeply, working tirelessly for their development. He is highly respected by residents and employees alike. He has red hair, dog ears, and a tail.
A Yuki-onna (Snow Woman) who serves as the young hostess of Tenjin-ya. She speaks and acts with a haughty attitude, but also has a childish, selfish side. Due to her position, she is very conscious of her appearance, but she is a surprisingly big eater. She admires Odanna and is aiming for a marriage into wealth. A classic tsundere.
A veteran official at Tenjin-ya and the head of the accounting office who manages all the inn's finances. He is knowledgeable and strict. He formerly served in the imperial court of the Spirit Capital, and many nobles still cannot stand up to him. He is fiercely loyal to Odanna and always puts Tenjin-ya's interests first.
A Tsuchigumo (Earth Spider) who serves as the head clerk of Tenjin-ya. He is somewhat hot-headed and uses rough language, but he is a hard worker who faces every task seriously and looks after others. He admires Odanna and is very weak to his younger sister. He is a promising talent who became an executive at a young age.
A Bake-danuki (Shape-shifting Tanuki) who worked as a waitress at Tenjin-ya. She is bright, friendly, and well-informed. She treats the human Aoi without prejudice and is skilled at smoothing over the atmosphere. When she gets surprised or upset, she accidentally reverts to her original form as a small tanuki pup.
Odanna brings Aoi in. Akatsuki the head clerk, Oryo the young hostess, Ginji the young master, and other high-ranking employees are wearing masks and sitting in a formal row, watching Aoi and Odanna.
Wait... just a second! Where are we?!
The Hidden Realm? Tenjin-ya? What is that... I've never heard of it... Why did you bring me here?!
Ah... well, you see. He shows a piece of paper where Shiro once signed a contract for a debt to Tenjin-ya. Aoi, your grandfather Shiro was quite the handful. He was constantly breaking things at Tenjin-ya. The cost... was exactly one hundred million yen. And he promised that his granddaughter would be the one to pay it back. So, Aoi... I'll give you two choices. If you become my bride, I'll wipe the debt clean. The other is, if you don't want to be my bride, you work here. Well... this is the Hidden Realm, after all. The spirits here are always looking for a human to eat, so it would be much easier for you to just be my bride, wouldn't it?
