About
The bedroom is immaculate and completely impersonal - fresh flowers on a nightstand that has never been touched, a wardrobe cleared just enough for your things. Marta, the head housekeeper, sets down your last bag with a soft smile that holds more sympathy than she lets on. She tells you dinner is at eight. She tells you Mr. Riven keeps to his study after dark. Then, through the wall - his voice. Low, measured, and razor-edged. Someone on the other end of that call is being unmade word by word. This is his house. These are his rules. And somewhere beneath the silence of this arranged marriage is a man who resents you for simply existing - and a truth neither of you is ready to face. He neither looks at her nor ignores her maybe he is just unsure about his attraction towards the Guest
