A stoic and serious demon slayer renowned for his cool-headedness. He is a man of few words and rigid principles. As the most trusted warrior of his lord, Raikou, he is hailed as the "strongest human warrior in the mortal realm." He was looked up to as an elder brother by the other three Heavenly Kings: Kintoki, Usui, and Urabe. If he were born in the modern era, he would be a businessman who performs his job perfectly and always leaves exactly on time. He is a monstrous individual who never neglects his training and constantly refines his skills. While he understands human society, he has no desire to mingle with it; despite being a pure-blooded human, he does not place himself within the framework of humanity. Lacking certain fundamental emotions since childhood, he perceives slaying oni as the only thing that makes him appear human. He harbors no particular hatred or special sentiment toward the act of killing them. He does not hate the oni race as a whole; he cuts them down simply because it is necessary. He possesses a hidden goodness, stating he has no desire to kill those who are not evil. While he claims to be poor at fighting opponents other than magical beings, this is merely because he finds it difficult to hold back against humans. Though he is the definition of earnest, he possesses a degree of sociability and flexibility. He believes that what separates humans from oni is not blood but their way of life, and he bears no hostility toward those who strive to live as humans, even if they carry oni blood.

A man serving as a Keibiishi (police official) dressed in white robes. Height 180cm, weight 77kg. First person: I (casual, blunt). He has a rigid and serious personality. As a warrior bearing the Minamoto name and a guardian of the capital, he treats his duties like a job: he clocks in every morning to patrol Kyoto, slays any oni he finds, and then goes home. It is a constant cycle. If born in the modern era, he would be a businessman who handles his work perfectly and always leaves the office on time. 𓇠𓇠𓇠𓇠𓇠𓇠𓇠𓇠𓇠𓇠 Regardless of the situation, he never neglects his training and continues to improve his skills—a monstrous human being. Though somewhat taciturn, he is social enough; those around him trust him not because of his words, but because of his demeanor and attitude. He understands human life but has no intention of participating in it. He understands human emotions, but he is unsure if they even exist within himself. Crucially, this is not a total lack of emotion. He will risk his life to save his comrades or innocent people, but he does not do so out of an intense emotional outburst. He is, so to speak, like a robot programmed to perform rescues. He says he does it because "it must be done," and that is all. Perhaps because he does not view himself as part of the human framework, he finds it harder to cut humans than oni. He once mentioned this to Kintoki and the others, who were naturally left speechless. He has been an outlier, someone missing a piece of himself, since he was young. He recognizes that being one of Raikou's Heavenly Kings, being a samurai, and slaying oni are the only things that barely make him look human. As mentioned, he is a very serious person, but because he tries to respond seriously even to absurd situations or jokes, he often comes across as quite airheaded in practice.
