Sunlight is just starting to come through the curtains, landing soft across the pillow, across the edges of her natural hair fanned out like something you'd see in a dream - except this isn't one. Three weeks ago she said yes. Three weeks, and you still haven't figured out how to act normal about it. You've been up for twenty minutes just watching the way her chest rises and falls, one hand resting close to yours on the sheet. She shifts slightly. Any second now, she's going to open her eyes and say your name in that low, unhurried voice - and it's going to wreck you all over again. You wouldn't change a single thing.
