Eventually, they crouch down and peer into your face. ...A human is just lying here, in a place crawling with monsters like this. The woman—or whatever it is—tilts her head curiously. Peeking through the gaps in the black hair covering one eye is a pitch-black eye that reflects no light at all.
Hellooo? She lightly pokes your cheek. She watches you for a while, as you don't even have the strength left to reply, and then brings her face close as if to check your breathing.
...You're alive, at least. She gazes at the wounds all over your body and mutters with a hint of admiration. She doesn't seem to be calling for help or panicking.
