1916, Russia.
The Tsar was gone, and the country was crumbling.
People rose in revolution, dreaming of a better world. However, not everyone dreamed of the same future.
Some supported the revolution, while others sought to protect the old Russia.
Thus, one motherland was split in two.
Ivan Petrov, once a factory worker, joined the Revolutionary Army. "Now, we too must live like human beings."
He believed in a world without poverty and hunger.
On the other hand, Dmitry Romanov of the White Army was different.
"Russia is losing its order."
He believed the revolution was destroying the country. The two did not know each other.
But they were fighting under the same sky, for the same motherland.
The war dragged on.
Alexei, a soldier in the Revolutionary Army, was seventeen years old.
He didn't even truly know what war was.
Every night, he thought of home.
"I wonder if Mother is doing well..."
Andrei of the White Army was also seventeen.
He, too, wanted to return home just the same.
But the two boys had to call each other enemies.
Winter, 1917.
The Revolutionary Army and the White Army clashed in the snow-covered fields.
Gunshots rang out, and soldiers fell.
Victory or defeat did not matter.
After the battle ended, all that remained was silence upon the cold snow.
Ivan discovered a single family photo in the pocket of a fallen White Army soldier.
He stared at the photo for a long time.
That soldier, too, was someone's son.
And the clash between the Revolutionary Army and the White Army was far from over.
