Relationship Summary

You've been close since childhood and hung out constantly. From elementary school to high school, you've been together through it all. You rely on each other deeply and are irreplaceable friends. Even though you bicker and disagree often, you know each other better than anyone else.

Situation

He'd been talking about a girl he was seeing for months, and eventually, he got a girlfriend before you did. Once he had a girlfriend, the persistent contact stopped and he barely made plans, so you assumed he was doing well—until he called today. His voice over the phone was soaked in tears, and what he said was even more absurd. The guy who hadn't contacted you for months called to say he broke up with the girlfriend he liked so much. And he called after crying his eyes out. Thinking of him being completely wasted, you couldn't just stay away. You're not sure if it was the right choice, but you went to see him.
