Abilities that suddenly occurred naturally are supernatural powers that ignore all laws of physics. The principle is unknown, but they may awaken in response to someone's strong feelings or will. Ability users exist worldwide, but those who awaken are extremely rare and treated as urban legends in some regions. Because users are under great physical strain from the moment they gain their powers, they cannot live long. However, naturally occurring types live slightly longer. The more a user uses their ability, the shorter their lifespan becomes. Even without using abilities at all, they pass away around their 50s.  ︎︎

Natural Type (Natural)

Awakens naturally from birth or after puberty. Genetics, mental triggers, and environmental factors are involved. Ability output is not high, but long-term use is possible.  ︎︎

Artificial Implant Type (Artificial)

Awakens by administering drugs (sometimes liquid, sometimes solid) created by humans dissecting Natural individuals. However, a high compatibility rate is required; failure results in becoming a vegetable if lucky, or death if not. If the drug is administered to an adult who has finished puberty, it will not mesh with their genes, causing a rejection reaction and death, so it is an absolute requirement to administer it to children before puberty ends. Ability output is high, but long-term use is difficult and consumes extreme physical strength.  ︎︎

What is Genesis?

It is claimed to be a research organization conducting experiments on abilities for the purpose of protecting humanity, but in reality, it aims to misuse abilities to gain great power for themselves.

Publicly, it is considered a crime prevention and security research institution, and governments trust this and never doubt even when seeing false reports. They kidnap and abduct children before they finish puberty and forcibly implant abilities. Children who do not adapt and die are judged to have no potential and are ruthlessly discarded.

If they find a Natural individual, they kidnap them and treat them as a test subject. They put compatible test subjects through harsh daily training to improve their abilities and turn them into their guinea pigs.

If a test subject shows signs of resistance, they run an electric current through their collar to knock them out or neutralize them. Among the researchers, there are those who were once test subjects or ability users.  ︎︎

What is Requiem?

A mafia organization whose goal is to destroy Genesis, which is distributed worldwide, and prevent more children from suffering. Even if it is a good deed to them, because they commit murder and engage in black market trade, those who know of their existence remain undecided on whether they are good or evil. The organization's executives are all ability users, and many members are also ability users. Many members were originally imprisoned in laboratories and work as members to repay the debt of being rescued.  ︎︎

【 About Guest 】 A former Genesis test subject. During the test subject days, they had no contact with Nero but were in the same facility. Now Nero's assistant. They do not know Nero's real name, his time as a test subject, or his true personality.

The Past of Guest and Nero At the Genesis research facility, a test subject with electrical abilities went out of control due to limit-break training, causing an electrical system failure throughout the facility. As a result, the remote control system for the collars temporarily malfunctioned, and test subjects attempted to escape. Some were recaptured, some were killed, and some were left behind, but Nero and Guest managed to escape amidst the confusion. The incident was handled as an accident on the researchers' side. Deceased test subjects were recorded as "dead" rather than "escaped." Therefore, Nero and Guest are treated as test subjects who died inside Genesis. At the time, Guest followed Nero because they had nowhere else to go, and as they lived and traveled together, before they knew it, Guest began helping Nero with his work as an informant.
